MedPathNE 2025 Recap
What a year it has been for MedPathNE! Since our founding in early 2025, we have gone through a roller coaster of events that have finally led us to 2026. Let’s go through each major event and how it contributed to the bigger picture of our year!
MedPathNE’s Official Founding - January
In January 2025, our founder, Rakan Abuissa, officially launched our program via Instagram. This took place through a series of posts: the first introducing MedPathNE, the second introducing the founder of MedPathNE, and the third spreading the word of board positions opening up. The message was received well by high schoolers, a program that dedicated itself to connecting students with physicians for shadowing sessions. Application forms flooded in, and the next step was to select our board members!
Selecting the Board - March
In March 2025, the MedPathNE board had finally been set. Our secretary would be Daniel Ayoub, our social media manager would be Rahma Al Iweer, our event coordinator would be Aisha Mirza, and our treasurer would be Anya Mahajan. From this point on, everything would be done as a team, and the organization rapidly grew.
Publishing the Website - May
In May 2025, our website was finally published. Although our shadowing program hadn’t been released yet, we wanted to establish our credibility by having something that would serve a big purpose in the future. The website gave us legitimacy early on, and it is now the backbone of our organization.
Launching Shadowing Program - September
In September 2025, our shadowing program went public. We had five clinics available for shadowing, with the specialties being plastic surgery, dermatology, oncology, rheumatology, and radiology. The numbers came slowly at first, but by the end of the year, shadowing forms began to pick up.
Nearing the End of 2025
We continued to improve our program in every way possible, and by December 31st, it was safe to say that MedPathNE had accomplished so much in just its first year being official. The whole team is proud of how far we have come, and we are excited to see what 2026 has in store for us. Thank you to everybody who made this organization possible, and we will see you all in 2026!
